Recipe: Cherry Macaroon Kisses

Ingredients:

cherrykiss½ C. butter
¾ C. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. almond extract
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ C. flour
1 C. coconut
1/3 C. chopped jaraschino cherries
About 36 chocolate Kisses

Cream butter and sugar, add egg and almond extract, beat until well blended.  Mix in remaining ingredients except for Kisses.  Chill dough.  Roll into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cooked sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.  Remove from oven and press a Kiss into the top of each cookie.  An excellent Christmas cookie!
